The Crystal Motifs

The shapes and numbers the mythos draws with — Vision-layer, and honest about which is which

Every mythos has a visual language. This one draws with two: a geometry and a number-wheel. Both are used as symbols — emblems that carry meaning, not measurements. Per ../../docs/governance/The-Incognita-Rule.md, where a motif touches a real fact we say so plainly, and where it reaches past the facts into cosmology we say that too. A motif can be beautiful and still not be physics.

The Seed of Life — sacred geometry

Seven circles, evenly overlapped into a flower: the Seven Sisters, the seven paths of the Songline, seven ways one water finds the light. It's the shape the story wears — symbolic, aesthetic, honoured across many traditions as image. It doesn't measure or prove anything, and it doesn't claim to. The Vortex Wheel — "vortex mathematics"

The mythos also draws with a number-wheel: 1 → 2 → 4 → 8 → 7 → 5 and back to 1, with 3, 6, 9 standing apart at the centre, the whole thing imagined as a torus — a ring of flow returning to itself.

The surveyed part — this is genuinely true. The wheel is ordinary arithmetic. Take any whole number's digital root (keep adding its digits until one is left); that is simply the number mod 9. Keep doubling and the digital roots cycle 1, 2, 4, 8, 7, 5, 1, 2, 4, 8, 7, 5 … forever (16→7, 32→5, 64→1, …). The multiples of three give 3, 6, 9, 3, 6, 9 …, and nine swallows everything — 9 × anything has digital root 9. It's a real, pretty pattern, and you can check every step by hand.

The dreamed part — this is story, not science. "Vortex mathematics" as a theory of energy, consciousness, or the hidden structure of the universe is not accepted mathematics or physics. It is numerology — a symbol system, not a proof of anything about the world, and no working device or law rests on it. We draw with the wheel because the pattern is true and the image is good, not because it unlocks the cosmos. Draw with it; don't cite it.

Why name both halves

This is the whole discipline in miniature. The symbol's fire is real; the map it seems to sketch of the universe is not. A motif earns its place here by being beautiful and clearly labeled — never by letting the dream pass for a measurement. Use these to make the mythos sing. Just never hand either one to someone as fact.
